If you’ve been struggling to find your path, your mission in life, or to manifest something you really want and it is yet to show up, a great way to redirect your energy is to help others. In helping others, you help yourself.

A great opportunity has been presented to us to pay it forward. To all you fans of Oprah’s new show, "The Big Give" on Channel 10 this is your shining moment. There is an incredible non-profit organization in El Cajon called St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, (www.stmsc.org), and they have been selected as one of the five finalists to appear on the show.

There is one catch however, they have to raise $10,000 by Thursday, April 10^th

This incredible school for developmentally challenged adults ranging from 21-80 allows them to flourish in such a place. They paint, write, participate in music lessons, computer labs and job training. With the increase of autism and other disabilities, such as cerebral palsy and Down‘s Syndrome, there is a huge need for this kind of care.

The school also has an art gallery, Sophie’s Gallery on Rea St in El Cajon where the student artists have their work on display for sale to the general public. I, myself, own many paintings by Susan Warrin. Susan has one leg, is deaf, cannot speak and is an amazing artist.

If you ever visit the campus you will see how much love and joy is in these students. They don’t censor themselves as we do. They laugh and dance and experience joy without getting in their own way.

If you have ever wanted to give back to society, that you know someone with a child that has autism or another challenge, you know that it affects the entire family. The students at St.Madeleine’s deserve to have every opportunity that life offers them, the same as you and I.
I hope you find it in your hearts to help, but if St.Madeleine’s isn’t your first choice, do some good somewhere today.
